Some Updates, A Setback And Some Tutorial

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of update lately. I have been busy with so many things lately. First I was a bit frustrated. I was writing a book that I had planned to give to every reader of this blog a copy of but unfortunately I lost everything. I was writing the concluding part of the book but it got corrupt on my pc and I had to start all over again.

I was annoyed as it was as a result of a mistake from my younger sister but thank God I now have the motivation to write. I chose not to give up as I know so many have been waiting for the ebook to be done. I was not ready to give up and the e-book can only get better now as I have more ideas that I never had when I was writing the book for the first time.

Some updates

Our sites are beginning to pick up seriously. Four of the sites are now beginning to make good money and it is just a matter of time before we make our first $1,000 or even $2,000. I have used this challenge to experience with making money online through amazon and the results has been wonderful so far.

In total, we have made about $250 since this challenge started but that figure will go seriously up once I decide it is time to sell off one of the sites as they will be sold for as much as x12 of whatever they are making which means we may just made as much as $2,500 in the first one month or even more.

Ever since we met our firs sale some weeks back, some of the sites has consistently been making money with is nice. However, many who are reading this blog do not know it is actually very easy to make money promoting amazon products than click bank products.

We all have our preference but I have been marketing clickbank products for some time and never had it easier like I am having it with amazon sites.

How I build my amazon sites

I have this written down in a book but for those who can not wait to learn how it works, I will use this post to explain how it works. The main thing here is knowing how to conduct proper keyword research and that is all. I use the Google keyword research tool to conduct my keyword research and I target physical products only. Products such as rear view backup cameras, backpacks, kids car seat.

What I look for in a keyword

The number of monthly or daily searches is very important as the more the traffic the more the sales. A keyword that gets less than 1,000 monthly visits from Google is not considered. To find keywords that people are searching for in any product area ( we are targeting physical products ) all you need to do is to go to the google keyword research tool ( you can click here to check it out ) and then enter your keyword and you will be given a list of what people are searching for.

How to know if a keyword is good

Aside the number of monthly searches, you also have to check for the competition you will be up against. The competition you are up against and their strength will go a long way in determining your success level. In my opinion, a keyword is said to be good if the keyword has not more than 50,000 competing urls ( newbies should stick with 20k as the lower the competition the lesser the amount of work required ). You can check for the competition by entering the keyword into the search box of Google using quotes around it.

For instance, if our keyword is Abayomi Aje ( provided Abayomi Aje has more than 1,000 searches per month in Google – the more the merrier ) then we can check the competition level by entering “abayomi aje” into Google. Should the result be less than 50,000 then it is good but it does not stop there as the keyword may have less than 10,000 competing urls and it still be very competitive.

You need to check the strength of the type of sites you will be up against to be sure if the keyword will be worth it or not. You will have no chance in hell to rank for a keyword that has so many authority websites with lots of back links pointing to them ( we discussed what back links are in this post here ).

However, you will have a good chance of ranking or keywords that has authority sites on the first page if the authority sites do not have the keyword in their domain name and in the title and if they have less than 300 back links pointing to them.

From the above image, you will see that I have put quotes around the keyword ( Stephen Joseph backpacks ). You should also note that we only have about 21,800 competing urls which is very good.

Once we have gotten a keyword that has high number of searches and is less than 50,000 in quotes then the next thing is to put the keyword into Google without quotes. Image below explains that better.

The next thing is to go to the yahoo site explorer site to check the number of back links pointing to each of the first 5 urls in Google for our keyword ( the first 5 because those are the most lucrative. It is not enough to be on the first page as 1-5 get the most traffic ).

We are going to be copying the link address of each of the urls on the first page for our keyword and enter it into the yahoo site explorer site to know the number of back links each of the first 5 urls has.

From the above image, we have about 3,000 inlinks to that site but the truth is that the figure is inflated therefore we have to click on inlinks to get the exact number of in links pointing to the first url. It is important to do the same for all the top 5 urls.

Once you have clicked on inlinks, then you select except from this domain from the drop down. Here is an image for that :

Once you have selected except from this domain, the number of inlinks changes. This image best describe that :

From the above image, we can see the number of inlinks is actually less than 300 but to be sure that the competition isn’t too much, you want to check the number of links point to the other 4 urls among the top four.

Some of the urls on the top 5 will have more than 300 but if you have 3 that has less than 300 then you have a good chance of success. Another thing is to make sure you have your keyword as your domain name.

Chances are that the domain name may not be available but you can add words such as mastery, hub, empire, shop e.t.c ( e.g stephenjosphenbackpacksshop.com ). Having the keyword in your domain names gives you a big advantage over those that don’t have the keyword in their domain name.
